No-Till Drills
The Mercer County Conservation District has purchased a 2004
Haybuster no-till drill. The new ten-foot drill was delivered on June 29, 2004.
The purchase of this $14,500 drill was made possible with $3,200
in assistance from Ag Development Funds. This drill as well as the other three
drills the district owns can be rented for $6.00 per acre. Call John Elliott at
859.366.5204 to schedule a drill, sprayer, or the tree setter.
Tree Setter Available
The Conservation District has a Whitfield Tree Setter available
for the fall tree planting season.
This setter plants one row of tree seedlings at a time. The
setter is hauled on a specially designed trailer for easy transport and
unloading. It takes at least a 35 HP tractor with a 3 point hitch capable of
lifting 1,450 lbs. In addition, the setter is equipped with a 32" wide sod
scalper. There is a rental charge of $50 per day plus a $30 delivery/pickup fee
to farms in Mercer County.
Call the Mercer County Conservation District office for
more information or scheduling at 859.734.6889.
